First things first, my quote page is up. Finally.Elsewise, I was watching a clip from the press conference of Tie Domi of the Maple Leafs had in regards to his elbowing New Jersey defenseman Scott Niedermayer. It struck me in the middle of my viewing, there's a reason why they wear helmets during the game and it's so that the athletes will be able to let out more than 4 words at a time in speaking to someone. I was kind of hoping for more from Domi, but he seemed cold. I've admired him in the past because he is a passionate hockey player. If I had to have an athletically masculine boyfriend who wouldn't take any shit from anyone, I'd date a hockey player like him. But I found myself thinking, "Don't speak. You'll ruin the moment," as though I was saying it to a man with whom I'd just had a one night stand. I give Domi credit for crying, I'd have cried too, I mean, shit. Look at this. Not only does he get put out for the rest of the playoffs, but if the Leafs had lost tonight (or this coming Monday night), he'd be fucked out of the first 8 games of next season, too. But the violent outbreaks that erupt are a huge part of what I love about the game.
There's a scholarship dinner set for tomorrow night that I've gotta type out a speech for. I'm a bit nervous but I know that in the end, the scholarship's mine *grin*
