Quote of the Minute

Before you freak that I've written a novel on this page, rest assured that I haven't. There are pictures on this page. By tomorrow, everyone and Cindy should know that there's something going on between Tony and myself. That said, let me explain how the prom went last night ;)

I looked amazing.

When I arrived at the prom in the limo with Sara and the crew, I wasn't expecting the *warm* reception I got from several of the guys. I walked inside with Ilya and Julie and that's when I saw him. Tony's hair was slicked back and he was looking great.

As I remembered that Cindy was in New Jersey, Tony did a double take of me, which I thought was especially ego-boosting. I played it off while talking to someone, all the while noting that out of the corner of my eye that Tony was checking me out. Whee. Go me.

So, instead of playing down my look last night, I owned it. I approached him and we hug, during which he whispers into my ear "Sally, you're so beautiful." From this point on, I suppose we're inseparable. We find a table and sit next to each other and he focuses on the shawl I've brought with me in case I got cold. He pulls me closer and wraps the shawl around me, telling me that I should wear it until he says it's okay to take it off because my dress is very attention grabbing (an inside joke in reference to something that had happened the other day). So the shawl becomes a running theme throughout the night. We sat and joked with the rest of the people at our table when meanwhile, he makes these references to the night we kissed when Rory tried to tickle me. Everything was going so nicely. We took lots of photos together and he seemed to take every opportunity to touch me in some way.

Then it came time to actually dance. I went up with him and we joined Sat, Matt, Eric, Sara and Mike. He knew all the words to just about every song that was played. It got wild. It got sweaty. It got coupled. Tony and I spent about 98% of our respective times dancing with each other, the other 2% being those times I danced with Zach and Shaun. Everything else was with him. We weren't just dancing. Tony's and my hands were all over the place, except for those long times where his were rested low on my waist or thigh when we got really into the dance. I brought my shawl out onto the floor and he would wrap it around me, use it to suddenly pull me closer to him so that our legs were in between each others' and then place a hand on my lower hip. Our faces kept bumping into each others' and Sat jokingly told me that I was a harlot. We laughed, Tony heard nothing of it as the music was so loud. I told her that I was probably going to hell for the nature of our dancing and our relationship. Stacey and Zach were dancing next to us during a slow song and one or both of them told us to "Get a room, this is a hotel after all."

Faster songs came and went and during the last few, he and I really got into them. I would turn my back to him and dance up against him, his hand on my stomach holding me tight and closer to him. I had never gotten so into dancing with anyone like I did with him. Shannon, a girl from school who has berated Tony for flirting with me as shamelessly as he does and who is also friends with Cindy, saw most of everything we did. I expect her to tell Cindy. If she doesn't, someone else will. I would stop looking back into his eyes for a few minutes while I was dancing to see that there was a group/or groups of girls from his grade that were pointing at us and not looking too approving. I realized then that I. don't. fucking. care. I was having fun. Not thinking about what they would do/say was a big turn on.

There were five/six slow songs. I only danced two of them with someone other than Tony, his initiation of all of them. I looked around and I saw a few people looking and it was nice to be the one who was garnering all this attention. I reveled in it.

Afterwards, the limo dropped me off at Sara's house so I could pick up my car. Tony had followed us and we agreed that we'd come back and hang out.

Before we took off for our respective houses so as to change into come more comfortable clothes, he took the shawl that we'd used while dancing and held it in his hands. Tony~ "This shawl, um, this, well, it was very useful tonight wasn't it? And not just in keeping you warm."

We hung out at Sara's and watched a movie. The movie ended, I spent the night and he went home. The prom and everything else was fun, it was carefree, it was just nice. Tony's got a choice to make here and no matter what happens, things will be okay. I'll move on if nothing happens between us or if more stuff does occur and I leave for college.

It was about 4:30am this morning when he left and I crashed. Here I am. It's mother's day and I'm looking at the pictures. This one continues to make me laugh.

Oh, and that's a kiwi off his plate that I'm eating.
