Quote of the Minute

I'm going to add this quickly before I forget anything. Also, I'm at Adrien's apartment so I can't exactly spend four hours updating this and you. So, enjoy this ;)

I arrived at the motel for Frff on Friday night and was greeted by Ellen, Nate, Chaya, Anita and the rest of the bunch.

That was fun. We went to the festival site and then got in on Squee's camping wristband. Walking around I met a lot of people that I haven't seen in forever or maybe just ever. So a whopping hello to all of you. It was nice to meet and or see you again.

We stayed in the budgie dome until 2:30 that night and I didn't fall asleep until 3:45am or so. We didn't really get to the festival Saturday until it was time for Jian's workshop.

I will say this and I know it'll sound *shocking* to those of you who think that I'm still in love with the man. I bought his new album off a friend who bought it for someone else. At the motel last night, I listened to it. Then I sold it back to my friend to give it to their friend. Yes. It was that good *end overbearing sarcasm.* I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong. I'll go see him live anyday because I enjoy the live versions of Natalia, Astronaut, Baby Don't Lie and the others. I just couldn't stand the album versions of them.

Anyhoo. Afterwards, Squee and Chaya and I waited in the boiling hot sun for him to come over and sign my foot. We wait. And we wait. And after waiting a little bit longer, he comes over and he says hello to Squee, to Chaya and then turns to me.

Jian takes my hand. And I say, "What are you taking my hand for? We can hug. We've done this before.""Just give me your hand," he says.

And I do. And he takes it in his and kisses it. And then he gets down on his knees while holding it. And then he bows down to me. Literally. Watch any tv broadcast of someone meeting the Queen of England. That's what he did.

I asked him what he was doing and he's like "I was just praising" or something like that. Sorry guys. The fishgirl in me died shortly after last August. I don't remember what he said but it was funny. He signed my cast and then I ditched him for Adrien who was off to my right and coming to say hello. He knew where to find me, of course: six feet behind wherever Jian was last seen.

Anyway, the rest of the day went very well.

Ellen is a great person. Can I say that? I love her. I can't believe that anyone would find anything seriously wrong enough with her to call her anything but a good person. I'm glad I came this weekend. Mostly because I got a great friend out of it in her. I cried last night during the Nields and Dar Williams' sets. I just broke down. I don't even know why, it just happened. And it felt good. It could have been because I was realizing that this is a very big time in my life and that things are changing. I'm moving on from the way things used to be and onto the way things will and should be. It feels nice.

My back aches. I wish that I'd gotten half the massages I gave out this weekend. Adrien joined us for a while and I gave him a face massage. I gave Anita a backrub while putting on some sun block for her today. Speaking of which, I didn't burn.

Ha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

And you thought I would!

And all I wore yesterday was SPF 6! Today, I was daring and went for SPF 4 and actually got some color along with some new freckles on my nose.

Ahem. I am so tired. Adrien's coming back with some food in a bit and I have to hit the bathroom. I'll write more later (or tomorrow, as it were).

I had a really great time. And if you were there this weekend, thanks for making it wonderful.
