The average woman's normal prolactin level lies somewhere between 2 and 30. Though they didn't realize this, the prodding my gyno did before taking a blood sample actually raised the prolactin level they wanted to determine; thus resulting in a false reading of 54 or so. This also results in the doctors assuming I might have hyperprolactinemia and a small cluster of benign tumors on my pituitary gland. So they set me up with an endocrinologist but a year later, I see one that's French and knows what he's doing.So Frenchy called me yesterday to tell me that the blood test from two days ago showed that my prolactin level is down 2 points from last month. It's resting at a comfortable 24.6. We didn't do an MRI the other day and he wants to continue putting it off for a while unless the reading increases when I see him in November.
Next to Dr. Atlas, this guy's my favorite. Speaking of whom, Atlas won't see my tattoo until the end of August and by then I may very well have the other one around the same ankle. Odd that I'm concerned more about his opinion of my tattoos than I am of my own parents.
Priorities. Bah.
