Okay. Let's review. What has Sally learned today?
1) That by the time the average migraineur is 50 years old, their migraines decrease by 50% and nearly 100% by the time they're 60. Good for them. I read this in my parents' AARP magazine after waking up from a 2 hour Imitrex induced nap. I ended up with a migraine about 15 minutes after waking up.
2) Thunderstorms can give you the opportunity to make new friends.
I had to go to work today and pick up my paycheck. For some reason, I chose to do this during the thunderstorm/downpour section of our rain today. I had to pull over at least 4 times because of how blinding the rain was. The third time I did, I met someone.
His name is Loren. He's blond, 20 years old, goes to the local community college with hopes of transferring to BU. He's kinda cute, beautiful blue eyes. He lives in Port Jervis and drives a new silver Toyota Echo. He's also lucky enough to have my phone number and should be taking me to a comedy club tomorrow night after work.
We were stopped next to each other and I look over to see that he's asking me what time it is. After rolling my window down, we get into a discussion that lasts about 30 minutes. Halfway through it, he's like "So I don't suppose I could get your number so we can hang out sometime?" Gave it to him and then explained how I get out late from work at 10pm tomorrow and that he'd probably want to just meet me there.
All this because he asked me for the time.
Imagine what you get for asking me what day it is :)
3) Something sad. My hairstylist of two years was pregnant and due anyday now. I was supposed to go in to get my haircut with her today but due the storm, they rerouted traffic and I couldn't get there. So, I call in to say I can't make it and they tell me Suzette hasn't been in for a few days. I ask if she's had the baby yet and if it was a beautiful boy and the woman on the other line kinda pauses. She tells me that she doesn't know how to say this but that Suzette lost the baby. Fucking 9 months along and she goes into labor only to have the umbuilical cord tie itself around the baby's neck.
Big fat dammit. She's the second woman I know to have this happen to them.
So, my thoughts go out to her and her husband. May the baby rest in peace.
